The Virginia Down Syndrome Association (VDSA) is seeking an intern to help with our Marketing, Communications, and overall outreach efforts. The mission of VDSA is to benefit the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families through individual and family support, education, community awareness, and advocacy. We have various program and event outreach initiatives as well as actively planning our Dancing with the Local Stars Gala at the Altria Theater in June and our Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk and Festival in October, which our largest event and fundraiser of the year. Other than event experience with the Gala and Step Up, there are opportunities to help with our social media, website, newsletters, PR, research, working with our programs, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on a 42-year-old organization that has undergone new leadership and renewed strategic initiatives.

This is an unpaid internship that is normally eligible for course credit, 3 credit hours and 150 hours with the internship. Our office is located in Henrico County (23229) but a majority of the activity could be remote.  Please send a resume and email to mbaum@virginiadsa.org.
