The Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center (Massey) has an exciting opportunity for a VCU Photography, Videography, and Multimedia Intern in the Office of Cancer Research Training and Education (CRTEC) for 10 weeks over the summer! Massey is designated by the National Cancer Institute as a Comprehensive Cancer Center and is located on VCU’s Medical Campus in the heart of downtown Richmond. Promotional Video Example: Massey's Cancer-focused Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) Program

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Develop promotional content highlighting CRTEC programs (i.e., promotional videos, interviews, photo sessions, scientific spotlights, etc.). 
• Create social media content 1-2 times a week for platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram, marketing materials, and recruitment resources to increase the visibility of CRTEC efforts through content engagement. 
• Ensure alignment of VCU and Massey brand standards and messaging across all digital and printed materials. 
• Other duties as assigned by the CRTEC Office.  

Minimum Hiring Standards: 

• Undergraduate student at VCU
• Must have their own photography/videography equipment and be able to produce promotional video materials (i.e. lighting, audio capturing, and video/photo capturing). 
• Fluency in: 
  • Photography, video creation, and editing skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Acrobat), social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube)
• Ability to work independently/well with a team while meeting deadlines; creative and proactive, with attention to detail, oral and written communication

Hybrid 

Hours: ~ average 14-16 hours/week (5/27-8/1/25), onsite 2-3 days per week, be flexible time-wise 

Stipend: $3200
