AI Intern – Interior Design Tech Integration
Location: Hybrid – Remote & Downtown Richmond, VA
Type: Internship (Unpaid, Eligible For Academic Credit)
Hours: Variable, Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM

About Us:
We are a boutique residential interior design firm located in Richmond, VA, focused on delivering curated, livable, and sophisticated interiors. As we expand our digital presence and offerings, we are integrating intelligent tools to enhance our client experience and streamline our operations.  We have recently launched an e-design commerce space that provides design schemes ready to purchase as well as customizable designs for clients. 

Position Overview:
We are seeking a forward-thinking AI Intern to help us research, implement, and integrate artificial intelligence tools into our creative and operational workflows. This is a unique opportunity for a student passionate about the intersection of technology and design to work closely with a small team and make a real impact. This position is unpaid but available for academic credit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research AI tools relevant to interior design, content generation, and digital marketing
• Assist in integrating AI platforms to support e-design, space planning, and product sourcing
• Develop or refine workflows using AI to automate repetitive tasks (e.g., mood boards, copywriting, scheduling)
• Support the buildout of our e-design commerce platform by exploring AI-driven personalization or user experience tools
• Collaborate with the social media and PR intern to enhance content generation using AI tools (e.g., image editing, caption generation)
• Identify opportunities for improving internal efficiency with automation (e.g., client intake, CRM, scheduling tools)
• Stay up-to-date with current AI trends and emerging technologies in the creative industry
• Work with our external consultants as well as internal IT development team to implement evolving operations for the e-commerce platform. 

Requirements:

• Must be currently enrolled in a college/university program and eligible to receive academic credit
• Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, Canva AI, Figma AI, etc.) and basic scripting or automation platforms (e.g., Zapier, Python, Notion AI a plus)
• Strong problem-solving skills and a self-starter attitude
• Interest in design, tech, and entrepreneurship
• Reliable access to a computer and necessary software
• Must be located in or near Richmond, VA for occasional in-person collaboration
