Description of Organization: 

Richmond Floorball Club (RFC) is a nonprofit sports organization committed to growing the sport of floorball — a fast, safe, indoor hockey-style sport — throughout Richmond and  surrounding communities. RFC offers adult leagues, youth clinics, tournaments, and  community outreach programs to make floorball accessible to all ages and skill levels. 

Intern Responsibilities: 

• Develop and manage tailored social media content calendars and campaigns that fit with our mission. 
• Design branded materials, press releases, event promotions, and sponsor materials. 
• Advise volunteers or leadership members on public facing communications.
• Support brand consistency across RFC digital and print communications. 
• Assist with coverage of RFC programs including youth clinics, leagues, and US National team tournaments. 
• Collaborate with leadership on storytelling, marketing, and public relations  outreach. 

Intern Qualifications: 

• Rising Junior or Senior Mass Communications student (Public Relations, Strategic Communication, Media Relations preferred)
• Strong skills in writing, digital content creation, and social media management.
• Familiarity with platforms like Canva, CapCut, Instagram, or similar tools preferred. 
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate professionally with internal and external audiences. 

When Offered: 

Summer Semester 

Paid/Unpaid/Stipend: 

Unpaid; for academic credit only. 

This is a volunteer internship opportunity. As a volunteer organization. no financial compensation is offered. 

How Far from Campus: 

Primarily remote; occasional local event coverage (Powhatan/Richmond area, approx. 30– 40 minutes from VCU Monroe Park Campus)
