Spring 2026: Tri-City Chili Peppers - Various Roles
The Tri-City Chili Peppers are looking for committed team members for their 2026 Summer Baseball Season for a variety of Sports Management and Communications positions.
The Chili Peppers are the HOTTEST team in the Coastal Plain League, a summer wood-bat baseball league with teams in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. As the innovators of Cosmic Baseball, our team plays from mid-May through early August with 35+ home games at Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights, VA. We employ a small full-time staff so part-time seasonal employees and interns will perform integral duties and gain valuable professional experience and knowledge.
We are looking for eager team members to not only learn and help with day-to-day game day and stadium operations throughout the season, but also to provide leadership to this area. You will be offered an inside look at operations at Shepherd Stadium through a very hands-on experience. This is an exciting and fun position that will add a meaningful experience to your resume.
Team members should be outgoing, solution oriented, have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a desire to learn. You will grow both personally and professionally and have lots of fun in the process!
The following are the positions that we are hiring for during the 2026 Tri-City Chili Peppers season along with a small description of each:
- Baseball Operations: This intern will assist with day-to-day baseball operations tasks to ensure team preparation and readiness and be the official game scorer for the Chili Peppers by learning PointStreak software. This position will also assist with player practices, equipment readiness, youth camps organization and facilitation, and travel to away games with the team. In addition, the intern can work with assistant coaches to learn more about analytics and scouting.
- Broadcast Director: The Broadcast Director intern will lead the broadcasting and streaming team, which consists of 2 broadcasters and 2 camera operators. The Director will need to coordinate with the staff of the streaming platform that home games are streamed on. Away games are broadcast on YouTube. The Director will troubleshoot streaming and equipment issues to ensure all games are carried live to viewers.
- Broadcasting Interns:These positions provide color commentary and play-by-play of all games and help the fans feel like they are a part of the in-stadium entertainment. The broadcasting and streaming team plays an integral part in not only covering the Chili Peppers home and away games, but also telling the story of the Chili Peppers players and organization. Home games have been streamed on FloSports and Away Games via Youtube.
- Camera Operator: In addition to working alongside the rest of the broadcasting team, these positions will capture the exciting Chili Peppers action on the field and assist with pre and post game interviews.
- Fan Engagement and Entertainment: We are looking for creative team members that love to have fun, perform in front of a crowd, enjoy talking on a microphone, excel at spontaneous interactions, have a flair for creative script writing, and can influence others to have fun too. The fan engagement & entertainment team is an integral part of the Chili Peppers fan experience at Shepherd Stadium. Your performance can keep the fans coming back. It is preferred that candidates have a background in stage performance and enthusiasm for the game of baseball.
- Game Day and Stadium Operations:This team is the backbone of all our events and game day responsibilities. Team members should be outgoing, solution oriented, have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a desire to learn. You will grow both personally and professionally and have lots of fun in the process! This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all operations areas including: front gate ticketing service, luxury suite accommodations, merchandise management & presentation, customer service, game day production, concessions operations, and more.
- Marketing and Content Creation: As a Sports Marketing & Content Creation Intern, you’ll work closely with our Sales team in order to promote upcoming games in order to expand the knowledge of the Chili Peppers brand and grow ticket sales. This department will be responsible for: all social media posts, email newsletters, website updates, storage and organization of photo, video, and graphic design files, creating audience specific content, all photos and videos taken during games and community events, and staff photos. Qualified individuals should be a competent professional able to independently perform all game day media and public relations activities, develop quality written communications, and have experience using photography and video equipment and editing software.
