Spring 2026: Partners in the Arts at UR - Communications Intern
Partners in the Arts (PIA) is a program of the University of Richmond School of Professional and Continuing Studies.
Our unpaid internships are for students, recent graduates, and anyone else interested in experiential education through arts and community integration. Students interested in academic credit should contact their college placement office or counselor for more information and submit those needs upon receiving an internship.
Depending on your interests, skills, and availability, work may include assisting with:
Coordination support for the day-to-day operations of a university + community program, including event planning for our community-based workshops and the Joan Oates Institute June 8-12, 2026.
Telling our story
Creating/supporting our communications and marketing plan
Writing and editing content across all platforms through print and digital media
Designing on brand templates and processes across print and digital materials
Creating and managing a social media plan
Documenting the creative work through photo and video production and post
Research
Learn about data capture, analysis, and reporting of creative arts integrated teaching practices for both non-arts and arts educators, and professional teaching artists in the community.
Instructional design
Discover and support PIA faculty, educators, and teaching artists in their learning how to improve instructional practices in formal and informal learning settings
Strategic Planning to support the director in long term communications and marketing planning and design including reports, and elements from Telling our Story.

This internship is an educational opportunity designed to provide hands-on experience and professional growth. It is unpaid and intended for training purposes in accordance with the Department of Labor’s guidelines.
