Spring 2026: Gallery 5 - Brand Development Intern

organization/company:

Gallery 5 supports artists who take risks. As a nonprofit visual and performance arts center, it provides space for (and compensation to) artists across the broadest spectrum of creativity in the region. The gallery preaches and practices diversity and a sense of belonging, with most performances offered at accessible price points.

Art by the People for the People. This is a line the board believes in, but it is not represented in our brand guidelines or digital presence.

scope of work:

We seek a team that is interested in exploring and redefining Gallery 5’s brand guidelines. The voice and visual standards you generate will be produced and delivered immediately across our website and social channels. When budgets allow, these guidelines will impact our physical space (e.g., we want to update our signage and in-gallery experience).

timing:

Our goal is to have your recommendations approved (with 1-2 rounds of revisions). In parallel, our team volunteers and staff will be revising the website IA/UX. Our goal is to execute your brand guidelines through a design/dev sprint beginning in April, with the new site design going live in May 2026.

compensation:

Gallery5 cannot offer monetary compensation, but we can offer the selected team with free tickets to all upcoming shows/events for the duration of the assignment so that you can get a feel for - and hopefully enjoy - what the space has to offer the public. We also want to assure the team that this is not a theoretical exercise, we are committed to implementing your designs across our owned media this summer, resulting in produced work for your portfolio.
