General job duties of Videography (Docu-Series) Interns:

  • Shoot run-and-gun, documentary-style footage of behind-the-scenes venue operations, cast dynamics, and event preparations.
  • Assist in the production and development of an episodic YouTube reality/docu-series highlighting the real-life drama, excitement, and triumphs of running a cabaret house.
  • Capture high-quality B-roll of live performances, food service, and the vibrant late-night venue atmosphere.
  • Edit raw footage into compelling short-form (Reels/TikTok) and long-form (YouTube) video content.
  • Collaborate directly with the owner and marketing team to identify storylines and build narrative arcs from captured footage.
  • Organize, log, and manage a high volume of video files and digital assets.

Qualifications applicants should possess:

  • Strong eye for visual storytelling and a specific interest in reality/documentary-style composition.
  • Proficiency with basic audio capturing equipment.
  • Experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly dynamic live-event environment and adjust camera settings for challenging, low-light cabaret lighting.
  • Reliable transportation is highly appealing due to the nature of venue hours.
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and as part of a highly collaborative creative team.

Internship training includes:

  • Hands-on experience in documentary and reality TV-style field production.
  • Storyboarding and narrative development for episodic web content.
  • Advanced techniques for capturing high-quality video and audio in a live entertainment setting.
  • Mentorship on post-production workflows, pacing, and formatting content for various digital platforms.

Hours, Compensation, and How to Apply:

Dreamhaus operates Wednesday through Sunday from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM. While hours are flexible to accommodate class schedules, this role will require attendance at some late-night events and performances. This position is available immediately on a rolling admissions basis for the current semester, as well as upcoming Fall/Spring/Summer semesters. This is currently an unpaid internship designed for college credit; however, paid opportunities will become available for the right candidates as the venue and media programs grow.

A note on our culture: We are a highly open and collaborative team. If you have unique creative ideas, a specific passion for production, or simply want to get your foot in the door of a beautiful arts venue, we encourage you to reach out and start a conversation with us regardless!
