Spring 2026: Dreamhaus - Social Media Intern

DREAMHAUS SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN

Description of Organization: Dreamhaus is a stunning, premier immersive cabaret and Italian kitchen located in the heart of historic Shockoe Bottom. We blend high-energy live entertainment, a rotating cast of performers, and a curated dining experience to create an unforgettable nightlife atmosphere in a truly beautiful, one-of-a-kind space. As a dynamic, fast-paced arts hub, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of live performance and hospitality in RVA. Working at Dreamhaus offers a highly unique, behind-the-curtain experience for anyone looking to break into the live entertainment, media, or hospitality industries.

General job duties of Social Media Interns:

  • Work closely with the current Social Media Manager, Videography Interns, and Photography Interns to brainstorm, storyboard, and execute highly engaging digital campaigns and creative posts.
  • Conceptualize and launch original social media series and recurring content pillars that capture the behind-the-scenes magic of our venue and keep our audience consistently engaged.
  • Write compelling, brand-aligned copy that weaves engaging narratives around our performances, culinary/beverage programs, and the overall Dreamhaus experience.
  • Monitor TikTok and Instagram trends, trending audio, and viral formats to keep Dreamhaus’s digital presence fresh and relevant to the Richmond market.
  • Assist with community management by engaging with followers, responding to DMs, and interacting with local RVA businesses and influencers.
  • Help organize and schedule content calendars to ensure a consistent, strategic posting cadence.

Qualifications applicants should possess:

  • A deep understanding of Instagram and TikTok, including their features, algorithms, and current trends.
  • Familiarity with social media management and scheduling platforms (such as Later, Buffer, or Hootsuite) is a strong plus.
  • Strong, creative copywriting skills with an eye for detail and the ability to adapt to a specific brand voice.
  • Highly self-sufficient and proactive; you don't need to be micromanaged, but you love collaborating with a creative team to bring ideas to life.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for the arts, hospitality, and Richmond’s local culture.

Internship training includes:

  • Hands-on experience developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy for a commercial entertainment venue.
  • Learning how to translate raw photo and video assets into cohesive, narrative-driven social campaigns and ongoing digital series.
  • Mentorship in brand voice development, community management, and digital audience growth.
  • Training on how to read social media analytics and adjust strategies based on performance metrics.

Hours, Compensation, and How to Apply:

Dreamhaus operates Wednesday through Sunday from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM. While hours are flexible to accommodate class schedules, this role will require attendance at some late-night events and performances. This position is available immediately on a rolling admissions basis for the current semester, as well as upcoming Fall/Spring/Summer semesters. This is currently an unpaid internship designed for college credit; however, paid opportunities will become available for the right candidates as the venue and media programs grow.

A note on our culture: We are a highly open and collaborative team. If you have unique creative ideas, a specific passion for production, or simply want to get your foot in the door of a beautiful arts venue, we encourage you to reach out and start a conversation with us regardless!
