Development and Marketing Internship Job Description 

15-20 hrs/week. On-site preferred but virtual is possible on a limited basis. Excel and data entry skills preferred 

About the Faison Center 

Founded in 1999 and celebrating our 25th anniversary year, The Faison Center's our mission is  to give children and adults with autism and related challenges the best opportunity to improve  their life’s journey through evidence-based practice. We provide world-class services and  programs through our unique lifespan model, which offers enriching opportunities from early  diagnosis to adulthood. No matter when our services are needed, we are committed to  improving the lives of the individuals we serve. Today, Faison's programs include an Early  Education Center for pre-school aged students, a school serving ages 5-22, and adult services  including adult day programming and a residential apartment building for adults with autism.  Faison also operates a campus in Newport News, VA with early childhood and school age  programs. 

Marketing and Social Media 

  1. Work with Faison’s marketing agency to create a social media content calendar with a minimum  of 3 weeks of advance content if possible. Our target rate of posts is 3 posts/week.
  2. Develop copy and select/generate photos for social media posts. 
  3. Manage the photo library to ensure easy access to photos for social media 
  4. Work with front line staff to general content ideas and shepherd them into production
  5. Identify partners and ideas for Faison swag and shepherd them through to production
  6. Support Development staff in event marketing

Database 

  1. Regular tasks 
    • Assist with Donation Processing – Especially during heavy times Holiday (January) and  Gala (April) 
    • Research Major Gift Prospects 
  2. Special Project Ideas 
    • Identify SYBUNT prospects for re-engagement and create a solicitation plan
    • Create Sustainers Program 
    • Identify and research development database opportunitie 

Events 

  1. Gala 
    • Assist with Gala Silent Auction Item Procurement 
    • Assist with Gala Event Set up, Event Day of, and Event break down 
    • Manage print items 
    • Upload items to event software 
    • Upload event attendees to event software and add table information 
    • Inventory and store event decor and materials 
  2. Peninsula School Breakfast 
  3. Assist with Day of needs 
  4. Manage RSVPs and follow ups 
  5. Wine, Women, Shoes 
  6. Assist with silent auction item procurement 
  7. Special Project Ideas 
  8. Manage any Peer-to-Peer Autism Awareness Month (April) Events 

Thank a Thon 

  1. Regular Tasks 
    • Research and order thank a thon goodies 
    • Stuff cards and sort into delivery piles 
    • Map delivery routes 
    • Support deliveries 
    • Mail non hand delivered cards 

All other duties as assigned
