Position: Volunteer Photographer

Reports to: Amber Lancaster, Executive Director

Position Summary: A picture is worth a thousand words and Start 1 Spark needs help capturing the images that highlight our impact! The Photographer will be tasked with taking pictures at events and select school extracurricular activities. Prior to each event and/or season, the Photographer will be given guidance on the types of images Start 1 Spark would like taken. To the extent possible, the Photographer will refrain from capturing images that reveal a student’s face and/or name as pictures will be used in Start 1 Spark’s social media and marketing efforts. All photographs remain the property of Start 1 Spark and cannot be used without permission. 

Start 1 Spark’s mission is to provide students in need with the means to participate in their school’s extracurricular activities. The Photographer will have opportunities to engage with students and school staff in order to capture our mission in images. Multiple events will allow the Photographer to hone skills in taking live action shots and still photographs in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Take photographs in accordance with guidance provided by Start 1 Spark staff
• Upload and label all photos to identified Google Drive location

Requirements:

• Must provide own camera and transportation
• Must present a professional appearance and friendly manner
• Must be dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
• Respect and maintain confidentiality of Start 1 Spark’s donors and partner school students and staff
• Detail-oriented
• Courteous and personable when dealing with the public

Time Commitment: 3-6 hours per month, primarily in afternoons and early evenings
