Spring 2025: Project Yellow Light - Communications Interns (Remote)
WHAT it is.
Project Yellow Light, Hunter Garner Scholarship is a non-profit built on a simple concept, making a big difference to stop distracted driving.
Car crashes are one of the leading causes of death of teens and young adults in the U.S. and distractions are huge cause with our youngest drivers – a death which is totally avoidable. PYL is a program designed to reverse those numbers and save lives. Applicants to the scholarship create video, billboard or radio PSAs to convince their peers to be careful when they first start driving. No essay. Everything online. The contest is open to all high school juniors & seniors and undergrad college students in the U.S.
It’s all about giving the youth ownership of this critically important message; and allowing them to talk about it in a way that will resonate with each other. An opportunity for advocacy.

What we need.
Some social savvy people to drum up attention and momentum and help draw attention to our cause.
We need rich content and frequent postings to the following platforms:
-FB
-TikTok
We’re open to new and exciting ideas to connect with our target –ages 15 to 25 – as well as finding ways to bring growth and recognition to our brand. And we want someone who will be passionate about our cause.
Expected duties.
We need someone who is a good writer/researcher and able to regularly post on FB, Twitter & Instagram. Self-starter with initiative and able to work on their own.

Interns work together to share content, repost on different platforms. Need to be self-motivated, energized about doing a little research to familiarize yourself with our efforts/cause, work easily on your own with simple instruction.
Do a google search with key topics: distracted driving, texting while driving, all partners, notable people, @StoptheTexts (FB, Twitter, IG), film competitions for students, VA Film Festival, scholarships, etc. Be inventive.
