Burning Barriers Building Bridges Youth Theatre (B4YT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment of young people to become educated citizens through the arts. Founded in 2010, we believe in the power of the arts for community empowerment, problem-solving and peace building. B4YT helps children and young adults develop a vision for a better world and attain the education to realize their vision. We currently have operations in the United States and Monrovia, Liberia providing arts after-school and summer programming. We amplify the voices of those less often heard to promote positive change. Our activities include the theatre arts, music, dance, and visual arts to support students’ aspirations to become better people for a brighter future by expanding educational opportunities. 

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Communications Intern to assist our communications team in various projects. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the field of communications and marketing working directly with our Director of African Diaspora Initiatives and Communications Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, creativity, and a desire to use the arts as a catalyst for change. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Content Creation: Assist in writing and editing blog posts, press releases, and social media content. 
• Social Media Management: Help manage our social media platforms by creating engaging posts and monitoring interactions. 
• Event Support: Assist in planning and promoting events, including drafting promotional materials and coordinating logistics. 
• Reporting: Support the team in tracking metrics and preparing reports on communication initiatives.
