Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Virtual Event Planning Intern to assist in the coordination and execution of virtual and in-person events that support our mission. This position is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in event planning, nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field.

This is a remote, unpaid internship requiring a commitment of 5–10 hours per week. We are flexible with scheduling and supportive of academic requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events, community outreach programs, and workshops
  • Coordinate logistics such as scheduling, virtual platform setup (Zoom, Eventbrite, etc.), and vendor communication
  • Develop event timelines, run-of-show documents, and checklists
  • Help with outreach to speakers, performers, sponsors, and community partners
  • Promote events through social media, email campaigns, and community calendars
  • Assist with registration tracking and post-event evaluations
  • Attend virtual planning meetings and provide weekly progress updates
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Familiarity with event planning and project management
  • Comfortable with virtual platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Eventbrite, Canva, etc.)
  • Passionate about community service and women’s empowerment
  • Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely

Time Commitment

  • Flexible schedule
  • Minimum of 5–10 hours per week
  • Internship duration: 3–6 months (with potential to extend)
