Fall 2025: Women Empowering Women - Social Media Intern (Remote)

Women Empowering Women – Diamonds in the Rough is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering, educating, and equipping women and young girls to discover their self-worth, purpose, and potential. We focus on mentorship, life skills, spiritual guidance, leadership development, and community outreach.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and creative Virtual Social Media Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for students or aspiring communications professionals who want to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit branding, content creation, and digital engagement. This is a remote, unpaid internship requiring a commitment of 5–10 hours per week. We are flexible with scheduling and supportive of academic requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Design visually appealing graphics, flyers, and social media campaigns
  • Monitor social media activity, engage with followers, and respond to comments/messages
  • Assist in developing a content calendar and tracking metrics
  • Support live virtual events and campaigns through social media promotion
  • Research trends and best practices to enhance engagement and visibility
  • Collaborate with the CEO to promote events, programs, and initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Strong written communication skills and creativity
  • Familiarity with Canva, Meta Business Suite, Instagram, and other social tools
  • Interest in women’s empowerment and community service
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently
  • Basic understanding of social media analytics is a plus
  • High school diploma or current enrollment in college preferred (communications, marketing, public relations, or related field)
