Social Media Intern Position Description
The VCU Department of Psychology's Humphrey Fellowship Program is seeking a talented and motivated Social Media Intern to join our team. The Humphrey Fellowship Program is a 10- month leadership program for mid-career international scholars working in the field of public health. As a Social Media Intern, you will work with the assistant coordinator to create compelling content for digital and print materials, social media, and the web. You will have the opportunity to tell the stories of mid-career international scholars working in public health and demonstrate the impact of this Fulbright sponsored program on individuals and communities domestically and around the world. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of social media platforms and be comfortable managing multiple social media accounts. You will be responsible for creating original text, still graphics, and short-form video content. Additionally, you will be monitoring posts, helping to promote events, and working with the assistant coordinator and social media team to develop content and campaigns.

Intern Responsibilities
- Create daily social media posts for VCU Humphrey Fellowship Program pages • Develop original text, still graphics, and short-form video content
- Promoting upcoming events on VCU Humphrey Fellowship Program social media pages • Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns
- Create weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote the VCU Humphrey Fellowship Program brand on various social media websites
- Create and distribute content such as blogs, infographics, videos and press releases on social media and traditional news outlets
- Brainstorm and research ideas for original content
- Develop new strategies for increasing engagement
- Ensure brand message is consistent
Intern Qualifications
- Basic copywriting skills
- Mastery of the major social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter
- Knowledge of social media analytics software including Facebook Insights, Google Analytics and Twitter Analytics to track audience engagement and campaign performance
- Experience with content management systems, word processor applications and image/video editing software
