Fall 2025: VCU College of Health Professions Marketing and Communications Intern (Paid)  

About Internship: The VCU College of Health Professions is seeking a marketing and communications intern for the fall 2025 semester. Reporting to the assistant director of marketing, the student will help support the strategic goals of the college and advance its reputation externally. 

Location: 900 E Leigh St, Richmond, VA 23298 (Hybrid and flexible work environment)

Deadline: Rolling acceptance 

Compensation: $12.41/hour, up to 20 hours per week

Internship Responsibilities: 

  • Digital Content Development: Collaborate with the assistant director of marketing to brainstorm, write, and edit content for the college’s social media platforms. Assist with planning posts, drafting captions, and supporting the overall content strategy.

  • Social Media Management: Use Buffer to help plan and schedule posts across the college’s accounts for approval. Monitor account activity and flag comments or messages that require a response or follow-up from staff.

  • Graphic Design & Visuals: Design graphics, flyers, and other visual content for social media, the website, digital campus screens, and recruitment events—ensuring consistency with VCU’s brand guidelines.

  • Photography & Video Assistance: Capture photos and short videos during events and campus activities for social media and the college’s content library. A professional camera is available, though students may also use their phones.

  • Administrative Support: Support the marketing and communications team with day-to-day tasks such as organizing digital files, maintaining content calendars, and assisting with meeting coordination.
