Podium RVA - Internship Description 

TITLE: Communications Assistant: This opportunity can be completed as a 3-credit internship in conjunction with your department or as professional volunteer experience.  

ORGANIZATION 

Podium RVA is a local nonprofit organization serving youth ages 11-19 across Greater Richmond  and the Tri-Cities. Through after-school and summer programs, youth build the writing,  communication, and leadership skills they need to succeed in school, career, and in life. Podium  hosts weekly workshops, summer teen professional development opportunities, quarterly  showcases, and publishes youth literary zines and journals.

• Social Media metrics tracking
• Analytics data research 
• Copywriting 
• Publication & Editorial Work  
• Organizational & Administrative Skills  

We're especially seeking applicants with strong communication skills, creativity, an interest in social media analytics, and platform data. Ideal candidates will support inclusive learning environments and bring a cultural lens to our writing and literacy work.  

SCHEDULING 

Applicants must be available for a minimum of two days per week, Monday-Thursday, between  3:30-6:00 PM. Additional hours are flexible. Intern positions are available for Fall, Spring, and  Summer semesters.  

QUALIFICATIONS 

Students majoring in advertising, education, communication, marketing, or media broadcasting are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, creativity, teamwork, and a passion for youth empowerment. Reliable transportation is required.
