Old Towne Counseling - Public Relations/Marketing Internship
Description of Organization:
Old Towne Counseling Services (OTC) is dedicated to providing mental health counseling services to children, teens, individuals, families, and couples. As a practice, we approach therapy from a holistic and solution-focused perspective. Additionally, the vast experience of our therapists allows them to provide particular strategies and interventions that will meet unique needs and expectations. OTC also offers medication management and psychological testing.
General job duties of Marketing/Public Relations Interns:
- Identifying, Researching and partnering with local businesses to let them know who we are and what we do.
- Making connections with key people in those businesses. Taking them “swag” and rack cards for them to give out to their patrons.
- Setting up in-services for local businesses to bring in a therapist for a “brain break” or inservice for their staff
- Possibly attending community events to promote OTC services. (festivals/fairs) • Work with marketing and other mu8952seum departments in developing and executing PR events to generate news coverage of the Science Museum, its programs and projects. • Generating content for our website and social media presence.
- General office and project support for Admin. Department.
Qualifications applicants should possess:
- Candidate should have strong communication skills. Knowledge or interest in the mental health field is helpful.
- Ability to work on computers or the ability to learn the software quickly.
- Should be prepared to work in a business environment and work on a deadline. • Ability to connect with people.
- Ability to work alone as well as part of a team.
Internship training includes:
- Conversational/broadcast news style writing
- News release formats and AP style.
- How to write to encourage news coverage and create public interest.
- As text I use Writing News for Broadcast by Edward Bliss, Jr. and John M. Patterson This internship is offered year-round. Hours are flexible. This is an unpaid internship.
