Description of Organization

VCU Sports Properties manages the corporate partnerships for VCU Athletics, VCU RecWell and other areas of the VCU campus. We strive to work collectively with partners to build a campaigns that delivers best-in-class results to VCU, its corporate sponsors, Ram Nation and the Central Virginia community. While our daily tasks vary widely, our main focal areas are advertising sales, brand management, content creation and event planning.

 

Intern Responsibilities

The intern would manage the VCUSP publication production process, including but not limited to content/story development, design/layout, integrating advertising elements and distribution strategies. 

Current Publications Include:

• Digital gameday programs for all men’s basketball games (home and away) 
• Digital programs for additional select events and teams
• The Monthly Ram Report magazine that highlights what is currently happening in VCU Athletics. 
• The VCU Sports Properties E-Newsletter distributed to corporate partners highlighting any new partnerships, successful partnership activations, updates on how VCU sports are doing, NIL updates, and any other interesting items that could help maximize their partnership with VCU Athletics. 

Other duties as assigned.

 

Intern Qualifications

• Required 
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with initiative and creativity
  • Detail-oriented and adaptable
• Preferred
  • Knowledge of and/or prior work experience in athletics
  • Prior experience with video, graphic design, and photography

 

When offered

Fall/Winter but do need some help in the spring and summer as well. 

 

Paid/unpaid/stipend

Stipend - $500 per one (1) credit up to three (3) credits total

 

How far from campus

On Monroe Park Campus - Office located inside of the Siegel Center. Could also be remote most of the time if needed.
