Fall 2026: UrbanGlass - Editorial & Communications Intern
The Editorial and Communications Intern for UrbanGlass will split their time between supporting the editorial operations of Glass: The UrbanGlass Art Quarterly and contributing to the communications and marketing efforts of UrbanGlass, a nonprofit art center in Brooklyn.
Glass Quarterly is the magazine of record for glass art and is archived in libraries around the world. As a program of UrbanGlass (founded in 1976) — which includes a state-of-the-art glass studio, an art gallery, and an active education program — the magazine has played a central role in the critical discourse surrounding glass art since its founding in 1979.
On the editorial side, the intern will work closely with the editor and managing editor of the magazine on a range of tasks, including researching stories, conducting interviews, writing articles for the online publication, Glass Quarterly Hot Sheet (and potentially the print magazine), and assisting with editorial administration such as data entry, fact-checking, and database maintenance.
On the communications side, the intern will collaborate with the UrbanGlass Communications Coordinator to create a range of content, including social media posts, newsletters, event documentation, and promotional materials. They will contribute to the development and execution of communications strategies, help craft messaging for various audiences, and ensure consistent branding and tone across platforms.
