Richmond Racial Equity Essays - Design Project

Using the Just City Essays as a model, which is an e-book of 26 essays reflecting on how to create a just city, urban planner and DEI consultant, Ebony Walden is working with activist and urban farmer Duron Chavis and Meghan Gough from VCU's Wilder School to create a similar e-book of essays along with video interviews (similar to Black Space Matters) and a virtual summit focused on racial equity In Richmond. We hope to capture voices from all walks of life and sectors in Richmond. The goal is to explore what an equitable Richmond looks like, especially as it relates to racial equity and highlight the strategies that will help us get there. We’d like the essays, videos and online summit to culminate in a draft framework for advancing racial equity in the City of Richmond.
