About James River Soil and Water Conservation District:

JRSWCD is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. We operate under the Department of Conservation and Recreation and Chesterfield and Prince George Counties. The district has two major functions, provide cost-share assistance to agricultural producers and suburban homeowners and educate the community on soil and water conservation. The two cost-share programs we run help pay citizens for implementing conservation practices on their property. JRSWCD works with students of all ages, going into schools for in-class field trips, High School Natural Resource Competitions (Envirothon) and Youth Conservation Camp over the summer. Our educational programs extend beyond the schools with adult classes like Rain Barrel Workshops, and Farmers Events. At James River SWCD we have so many amazing programs for our community and want to make sure we are able to reach everyone that could use our assistance!
