Posted in: Advertising internships, Internships & scholarships, Public Relations internships

Do poor typesetting choices make you twitch? Do you love white space? Do you know Adobe keyboard shortcuts like the back of your hand? Are you a quick learner and detail-oriented? Richmond magazine design interns will jump right in to the art department, collaborating with other designers and art directors in the production of magazine department pages, ads, marketing collateral and even feature spreads.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a college student studying graphic design or a related field with an interest in design and layout. A commitment of at least five hours per week is required for this internship. Experience in Adobe InDesign is required, and Photoshop and Illustrator experience is preferred. Bonus points for publication experience, and for designers with additional illustration skills. We will consider any candidate with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn more about editorial layout and graphic storytelling. Candidates must be able to travel to our West Broad Street office and work in house.

Applying: Interns will be acknowledged in the magazine's masthead. This is an unpaid internship, and credit hours earned through your academic program are required. Applicants should email a cover letter, resume and three to five links to your work to Online/Digital Art Director Sarah Lockwood: sarahl [at] richmag [dot] com.

No phone calls, please.
