Candidates need to be detail oriented, organized, able to handle work loads and motivated to make a difference. This isn’t just an internship position, you become a team member during your time with us and your input and feedback is valued. The team is friendly and eager to teach our interns.
Some of the internship responsibilities include: helping with the Podium's PR efforts (writing blogs, pitching stories, writing press releases), assisting with event planning, making calls for sponsorship, collecting and inputting data, monitoring for trends and local happenings, special campaign concepting, researching, and help with copy editing / social media.
Minimum Experience Requirements: Demonstrates strong writing, editing and presentation skills. Possesses a key understanding of social media. Has an interest in education and youth development. Possesses strong time management skills and can manage multiple projects simultaneously. Pays attention to detail and has excellent organizational and computer skills. Expertise with Microsoft Office required; experience or familiarity Adobe Creative Suite a plus. Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively. Capability to go on in-person or telecommunications meetings.
Minimum Education Requirement(s): Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university; preferred studies include journalism or public relations.
