Summer 2018: Chesterfield Baseball Clubs/Bronco-11 World Series - Media Intern (Deadline March 2)

Chesterfield Baseball Clubs (CBC) is the host organization of the Bronco-11 World Series. Now in its 10th year in Chesterfield, Virginia, the Bronco-11 World Series is the pinnacle of achievement, as it is the premiere tournament for 11-year old PONY baseball players from all over the world. There are many different event functions that need to be coordinated, and opportunities are presented for any aspiring student in sports media at the World Series.

Media Intern Position: CBC is looking for a sports media student (communication, journalism, sports information fields), preferably a rising college junior, senior or recent undergraduate, who lives within a 40-minute drive of Chesterfield, Virginia, to oversee its media operations for the 2018 Bronco-11 World Series. CBC would be interested in a candidate with the following skills and interests:

  • Creating content for the Bronco-11 World Series’ new website and social media accounts, including press releases, social media graphics and some video content

  • Working with CBC board members to identify sponsors in the greater Richmond region, planning sponsorship package elements for those sponsors and then implementing those media-related sponsorship agreement elements

  • Designing flyers, brochures, a media kit and other promotional pieces

  • Shooting video and still photography for events on-and-off the field

  • Leading outreach campaigns and contests generated on-line

    Expectations: Intern is expected to work four days per week at (site determined by host), beginning in May through June 29th. Hours will increase June 29th through the end of the World Series, which is July 27-30. Intern is expected to be available and attend all summer CBC meetings about the Bronco-11 World Series, and be available and attend pre-event promotional nights (when needed). One-week of vacation is allowed with two weeks’ advanced notice and MUST be taken before June 29th.

    School credit is available for those who need it. There will also be networking opportunities.
