Membership & Volunteer Development Intern
Purpose: Reporting to the founder of BuildBlack, the Membership & Volunteer Management Intern is responsible for assisting with the recruitment and management of volunteer and membership programs while supporting the organization's mission. After being successful in this role, the intern may have the opportunity to become the Director of Volunteer & Member Engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Working alongside the Founder and Marketing/Communications Intern in the creation of a formal membership program
Developing and maintaining lists of current and potential volunteers and members
Helping manage volunteer and membership outreach through social media and community events
Networking at member gatherings and events
Assisting in reporting changes/trends in membership
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Good written and oral communication skills
Passion for social and economic justice
Detail-oriented
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
Flexibility and the ability to work independently
Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g. Non-Profit Management, Education)
