The Division of Public Affairs: Graphic Design Intern is an entry-level, part-time position that is responsible for assisting with graphic design projects. This position supports the Virginia Department of Social Services’ (VDSS) Public Affairs Graphic Designer with creating data visualization drafts; suggesting stock imagery and color pallets; implementing and adhering to the agency's Branding and Style Guide; and supporting the design and production of simple graphics, web and print materials.
Familiarity with photography, photo editing and image manipulation. Experience using Adobe Creative software (including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or InDesign) and experience using PC computers including Outlook, Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Degree (earned or in-progress) from an accredited college with a concentration in graphic design, illustration, advertising, communications or a related field or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the work. Knowledge of HTML.
