Summer 2017: Community Idea Stations (NPR/PBS) - Social Media Intern

The Community Idea Stations, Central Virginia’s public radio (NPR) and television (PBS) stations, is recruiting one to two social media intern(s) to assist in managing the company’s social media activities in the summer of 2016.
This internship will be supervised by the Social Media Manager and will provide the opportunity to gain experience in marketing and digital promotion. The role will include interacting with supporters and interested parties via Facebook and Twitter accounts, developing digital content, promoting radio and television programs, developing and tracking performance metrics, and supporting the station’s overall social media strategy, as well as working on special projects as needed. The intern may also have the opportunity to work on a personal project supported by the station.
Hours: Approximately 15 -20 hours per week during the summer. The intern must be able to commute to the station at 23 Sesame Street, Richmond VA. There may be some night and weekend hours depending on events and television productions.
