Open trellis is cultivating entrepreneurs and new businesses through our pilot program, RVA Works, in Richmond, VA. We are providing credible pathways to business ownership in the communities that need it most.
Additionally, we work with 1 Million Cups, a program of the Kauffman Foundation based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions and engage with their communities over a million cups of coffee.
This internship will offer a hands-on experience in marketing and communication and experience in behind-the scenes operations.
The intern(s) will assist us in:
- Increasing our organization’s brand awareness across various platforms (social media, Facebook, Instagram, etc...)
- Creating content for annual report, social media, e-newsletter
- Special project of your choice in an area you are passionate about
Our communications intern should demonstrate strong writing skills and be able to work independently as well as in a team atmosphere. The intern must be able to take initiative and remain proactive in the workplace. Ideal intern(s) should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mass communications with concentrations in; Advertising, Journalism, or Public Relations.
Applicants should also be highly organized and knowledgeable of online communications and social networking sites such as Constant Contact, Wordpress, Hootsuite, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
This is an un-paid position; we require 5-10 hours per week and can be used toward class credit.
