Job Summary:

As the Marketing & Communications intern you will gain insight into how the broader Marketing team operates within Care Advantage, Inc and its family of 8 brands. In addition to exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities, you will observe other areas of business including media relations, branding, graphic design, copywriting, event-planning, external and internal communications including video production. You will have the opportunity to apply the technical, creative, and strategic thinking skills you have acquired in the classroom to a real-world setting, by working on results-oriented projects based on current business demand. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross functional team members, engage with senior leaders as well as all the Care Advantage family of 8000 employees and 11,000 clients across the Mid-Atlantic (Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington DC.)

The Marketing & Communications Intern is a member of the Care Advantage team under the supervision of Vice President of Marketing and Communications.  

 

The Marketing & Communications Intern adheres to all Federal, State, Local and Company policies and regulations.  This position promotes and supports the Company’s core values of Compassion, a positive Attitude, Respect and Excellence at all times.

 

This internship is an unpaid, 15 - 20 hours a week position for regular course credit. Actual working hours are flexible based on student’s class schedule.







Essential Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist is all aspects of media relations, with a strong emphasis on social media engagement
  • Facilitate content for social media across all brands in accordance with the Communications Strategic plan and Social Media plan for 8 brands
  • Utilize Sprout Social software to manage, track and engage with external audiences
  • Assist with copywriting and proofreading for company communications including sales collateral, website updates and email communications
  • Assist in video production of company visual communications including story boarding, scripting, and filming
  • Assist in production of company events including the Social Worker Circle of Care Awards
  • Create and Manage Community Connectivity spreadsheet for 53 social pages

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Rising Junior or Senior currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program with a major/concentration in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Journalism
  • Excellent communication skills and extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and clients
  • Intern must be proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to work at least 15-20 hours per week
  • The ideal candidate will be interested in professional growth opportunities within the company

 

 

Work Environment:

 

To be effective in this role, you must be able to meet basic physical demands which include the ability to sit, stand, squat, twist and turn from time to time.  You must be able to lift a minimum of 15 pounds.  Workplace accommodations may be available based on medical recommendations and when it does not create a hardship for the company.

 

COVID-19 Considerations: This position will be in an office setting under direct supervision of the hiring manager. PPE will be provided by the employer as requested.
