Position Description
The VCU Health Hub at 25th Health Communications Intern will collaborate with the Center staff and communications team in all stages of marketing and public relations. They will assist with the creation of content and graphic design for the monthly/weekly calendar, website, online newsletter, social media, digital signage as well as the production of a variety audience-specific print and digital material in order to raise awareness about the Center, its programs, and the health outcomes they individually and collectively look to impact.

Accountabilities
• Assist with implementing a community engagement strategy around communications
• Assist with creating content and management of complete graphic design process across platforms
• Attend Health Hub team and other meetings as needed and requested
• Conducting and transcribing interviews
• Writing and fact-checking content
• Implement ADA compliance standards and readability tests

• Copy writing, editing and proofreading
• Perform various office management tasks to include administrative, organizational, and technical assignments
for communications purposes
• Complete training in order to gain a better understanding of the VCU Health Hub at 25th and its strategic partners
• Assist with the design, development, and implementation of the graphic, layout, and production of communication
materials

Other Skills Necessary
• Develop relationships and maintain communication with director, faculty, staff, and partners as necessary
• Ability to stay focused and meet deadlines

Supervision
• Reports to VCU Health Hub at 25th’s Director, Natalie Pennywell, MPH, CHES

Time Commitment
• 10-20 hours/week • Spring, Summer, and Fall Semesters

Compensation
• Unpaid • School Credit Available
