Communications Intern Position Description
The College of Humanities and Sciences is accepting applications for an enthusiastic student intern with a passion for communications and a talent for creating engaging content. The successful candidate will work with the director of communications to produce content for digital and print materials, social media, and the web. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and creative individual with strong writing skills. We are looking to you to tell the stories of the College in an interesting and engaging way. This internship also requires organizational skills, self-motivation, and an ability to meet deadlines.
Intern Responsibilities
- Research and write news stories, profiles, features, and social media content
- Conduct interviews with faculty, staff, students, and alumni as needed for stories
- Assist the director of communications and the social media coordinator with any communications needs
- Collaborate with video and graphic design interns on content for the College
- Utilize a content management system to assist with digital newsletter and web content
Intern Qualifications
Junior or Senior with 3.0 GPA
Strong writing and interviewing skills
Strong communicator
Ability to meet deadlines
Organized and detail-orientated
Self-starter
Ability to work on computers or the ability to learn the software quickly
