Title: Marketing and Communications Intern – Keep VA Beautiful
Keep Virginia Beautiful (KVB) is a state-wide non-profit organization that focuses on litter prevention, waste reduction, recycling, beautification and environmental education. Initiatives and events planned to continue in 2020 include 30 in 30 Green Grants, the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, a KVB Golf Tournament, the Adopt-a-Highway program with VDOT, and Shiver In The River Winter Festival in late February. In addition to the mentioned events, KVB is very active with social media and always looking for individuals to help us share our message and the opportunities to engage individuals. An individual with video production/editing skills would be a plus. If there are any students interested in working in marketing, communications or for a non-profit in the future, this is the great internship for you. You will get a firsthand look at how non-profits run, as well as a chance to meet other professionals in the environmental sector, attend board meetings and work special events put on by Keep Virginia Beautiful!
There is a need for a student intern during the Spring semester. Some candidates can get an early start in December or early January if local. This position is unpaid, usually able to get school credit, is flexible and requires approximately 10 to 15 hours a week. The KVB office is located in the West end area and the candidate will need transportation but some activities/tasks can be done out of the office. If interested, please email a resume and brief letter of interest to Mike Baum at firstname.lastname@example.org.
