Blue Sky Fund is a local Richmond non-profit based in Church Hill. Our mission is to provide transformational experiences for urban youth through outdoor education. We are currently seeking a part-time intern to support both the business and fundraising operations, which enables us to make a meaningful impact on kids in need in our community. This is a great opportunity for students looking for experience with a local non-profit, as well as those interested in pursuing future opportunities in fields related to the outdoors, education, or positive youth development.

Job Responsibilities:
The responsibility of the business development intern position is to support and assist both the Executive Director and
Development Director in the management and operations of key business and fundraising tasks, specifically:

● Donor database entry and acknowledgement letters
● Marketing and communications projects such as social media content, event promotion, media outreach
● Prospect research for cultivating new relationships or opportunities with donors, corporate sponsors or foundation partners
● Assist with grant management and reporting
● Program support: participant data and outcome tracking
● Event planning support for annual events
● Use gifts, strengths, and competencies in ways that enhance the overall success of the organization

● General passion for the outdoors encouraged!
● Ideal candidates will be students in the fields of marketing, communications, non-profit management or business
● Basic administrative skills required: Excel, Google Business Suite, comfortable in database systems such as Salesforce
● Experience in writing social media and marketing content strongly preferred
● Required availability: 2-3 afternoons per week (noon-5 PM range)

Job Details & Schedule:
The Development Director serves as the direct supervisor. Depending on schedule and availability, this position will range from ~5-10 hours/week during the work week. Specific schedule will be outlined during the interview process and agreed upon prior to accepting employment.
● Compensation: unpaid
● Preferred start date: as soon as possible, can be flexible for the right candidate
● Duration: ideally 3-6 month period
