About VCUarts Music
The VCUarts Department of Music is housed within VCU’s nationally recognized School of the Arts. Music students pursue studies as music educators, instrumental soloists, opera singers, chamber musicians and more. The department presents more than 200 concerts and recitals each year, ranging from student recitals and ensemble concerts to performances by world-renowned artists.
Intern Responsibilities
The Digital Media Intern will assist in developing and implementing the Music Department’s communications strategy through the use of digital media. The intern will develop multimedia content for the purpose of promoting the department’s student recruitment efforts, as well as concert and event promotion.
- Creation and editing of graphics, videos and photos for use on the web and social media
- Occasional photography and/or videography of concerts, special events and day-to-day happenings
- Produce, film and edit promotional videos for student recruitment, events and other programs
Intern Qualifications
- Junior or Senior standing
- Proficiency with Adobe CS programs, video editing software, digital cameras
- Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
- Personal interest in music or performing arts
Semester/Compensation
Spring 2019 - for credit only (1-3 credits).
