The Marketing Mixtape seeks to provide musicians with the tools and tactics they need to navigate the “business” side of the music industry. This includes (but is not limited to) helping bands create websites & electronic press kits, writing press releases, meeting bands to discuss their PR story, building media lists, crafting pitch emails, sending pitch emails and analyzing metrics like open rates + click-through rates to optimize process. Additionally, The Marketing Mixtape seeks to provide assistance for bands on social media pages, so this role will include social media content strategy and management skills. This role will be remote but will include weekly check-ins and event assistance, if or as possible.
The PR & Social Media Intern will play a vital role in the promotions process, helping musicians reach fans more effectively with their music through the power of PR and social media strategy. The role will require excellent communication and organization skills, self-motivation, a strong attention to detail… + an undeniable passion for music!

Skills & Traits Desired:
-Organization, strong attention to detail & proven initiative in a work environment
-Strong writing skills and experience crafting long form content (blogs or press releases)
-Experience with tools including MS Excel + Word, Google Drive
-SEO/SEM to be used for finding relevant articles in lower, mid and top-tier publications
-Experience using CISION & mail merge software preferred but not required
-BA or a current student in PR/Communications Field
-PR experience and portfolio or tangible work samples
