POSITION TITLE: Marketing Education/Workshops Intern
POSITION LOCATION: Richmond and remote work
COMPENSATION: $12 per hour; part-time.

Help support SCORE Richmond, a leading chapter of SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, with more than 10,000 volunteers in 300 chapters. As a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), SCORE has helped more than 11 million entrepreneurs through mentoring, workshops and educational resources since 1964.

SCORE Richmond is conducting a strategic review of greater Richmond’s business
education programs in order to better understand the ecosystem’s needs. This will
require meeting and interviewing key leaders within the RVA entrepreneurial and
business community. Beyond collecting, analyzing and interpreting data gathered, the intern will have the opportunity to present findings and help develop strategies and tactics to improve entrepreneurial and small business success rates in our region.

Responsibilities
● Be an active team member, helping to develop and implement project work plan, including scope, timetable and key milestones.
● Through information gathering, create a “market map” of all training and
development opportunities targeting small business owners and entrepreneurs in
the greater Richmond metro area.
● Conduct interviews with key stakeholders offering training and development
programs to entrepreneurs and small business owners, as well as a sample of
clients receiving these services.
● Identify “gaps” where current training does not align with needs and wants of
entrepreneurs and small business owners, and make recommendations to fill
these gaps.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications and/or have hands-on
experience, skills and competencies in the following areas. This is not an exclusive list:
● Be at least 18 years old.
● High school diploma required. In pursuit of college degree strongly preferred,
pursuing a degree in a relevant subject area, such as business, marketing,
advertising, economics, statistics or a similar subject.
● Effective communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
● Team player
● Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and information.
● Creative thinker who can produce independent ideas for team consideration.

Compensation
Pay: $12 per hour for 5 to 10 hours per week for approximately 10 weeks. Total
internship project time is estimated at 50-60 hours. Some flexibility in hours worked per week, based on intern’s availability.
