We are a locally owned company that publishes Richmond Weddings™
magazine, hosts RichmondWeddings.com and produces a twice-yearly wedding show. Our clients are wedding vendors including, consultants, photographers, venues, and anyone else who appeals to engaged couples. Our audience consists of anyone planning a wedding or event in the Greater Richmond area. We are ultimately a resource guide for engaged couples. Our company consists of husband and wife Scott and Amye Brunette and one fulltime employee. We have been bringing engaged couples and vendors together since 1989 and have over 200 clients who are like family to us.
Intern responsibilities will vary but may include maintaining social media campaigns, developing social media strategy, designing digital marketing materials, copy editing, and general office help.
Interns will need to be available between 8 to 10 hours per week in our office over the course of two days (excluding Friday).
All internships are paid and will be determined based on quantity and scope of work required.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and reside in the Richmond area. Candidates do NOT need to have a wedding industry background. We are looking for someone to start in February.
Attributes and Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience maintaining a social media outlet
- Excellent grammar and writing skills, with the ability to edit existing copy.
- Experience designing and implementing original content.
- Proficiency with Mac, Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Drive, Adobe Creative Suite, and WordPress is preferred. Computer and internet access is a must.
We are looking for a candidate who is creative, detail oriented, and very organized. This is a social job, so the ability to interact professionally and kindly with our clients is a must. The applicant should also be self-motivated, have excellent time management skills and able to work on his or her own without supervision.
We will guide and instruct but the intern will also have the flexibility to use his or her own ideas and originality.
