About Richmond VA Medical Center
Richmond VAMC is one of the largest, most complex VA medical centers in the U.S. It serves more than 60,000 Veterans per year in the Central Virginia region with more than 2,100 daily outpatient visits on average. Richmond VAMC serves as a flagship for VA in areas such as cardiac surgery, spinal cord injury research, Parkinson’s disease research and polytrauma rehabilitation. About the internship
We’re seeking a public relations student who can work 100 hours over a ten-week period. The schedule is somewhat flexible within the normal workweek (Mon-Fri, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.). The intern will be expected to produce media advisories for events occurring at the facility and assist in planning and carrying out said events. The intern will also work with the Public Affairs team to craft internal and external communications.
Applicants should be able to:
- Adhere to AP Style
- Write media advisories in a timely manner
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Assist with event planning
- Assist with copy editing
