Location: Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Virginia Department of Health, Division of Community Nutrition (Richmond, VA)
Position Description: The WIC Marketing & Communications Intern will assist in creating and disseminating a tailored video and marketing materials for a federally funded special grant project.
Accountabilities:
-- Assist to identify, plan, and implement new communications, marketing, and promotional campaign strategies for WIC related food lists/guides.
-- Attend WIC team and other meetings as needed.
-- Answer marketing related questions as requested.
-- Attend trainings in order to gain a better understanding of WIC and strategic partners.

Qualifications:
-- Marketing savvy, creativity, and forward thinking
-- Firm grasp of available social media tools and platforms

-- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
-- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff and participant population
-- Organization and attention to detail
-- Graphic design and basic HTML knowledge is helpful but not required
-- Fluency in Spanish a plus but not required
-- Ability to shoot, edit, and create a finalized YouTube video

Supervision: Reports to Division of Community Nutrition's Community Outreach Coordinator
Time Commitment:
-- 10-20 hours/week
-- January 2018 - May 2018
Compensation: Unpaid
