The Virginia Department of Health - Office of Health Equity is a public health office with a mission to identify health inequities and their root causes, and promote equitable opportunities to be healthy. VDH-OHE seeks ambitious graphic design/web design interns who want to apply their skills in a public health setting, and actively assist in web design and other visual materials.
Hours: Up to 10 hours per week. Schedule is negotiable.
Compensation: A stipend equivalent of $10/hour will be provided upon completion of internship
Duties and responsibilities: Assist in web design and layout, Design a variety of branding materials such as fliers/displays, Coordinate with other interns to translate concepts into print and digital collateral materials
Successful candidates will demonstrate: Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in web design and graphic design, High level of creativity and ability to provide unique perspective for campaign strategies, Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Adobe, Wordpress, Wix Flexibility and adaptability to state guidelines and requirements, Enthusiasm for the mission of VDH-OHE to eliminate health disparities for all Virginians
Requirements: Pursuit of bachelor’s or master’s degree in graphic design/web design or related field
