Social Media/ Marketing Internship Position Description
Description: The intern will observe and assist with various projects assigned by the Owner. General responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with the creation of hard and soft copy files
- Boosting posts on social media
- Designing and writing copy for posts to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Twitter
- Tracking responses and engagement on all social media platforms
- Writing and editing blog posts
- Researching industry trends
- Researching promotional materials, contacting vendors, and making suggestions for purchase
- Updating the marketing plan and communications calendar
Intern will gain and/or improve upon their:
- General communication and customer service skills
- Understanding the special events, hospitality, and service industry
- Understanding of entrepreneurship and managing a company
- Knowledge of marketing and advertising for a start-up company
- Skills in development of a business communications calendar, social media posting, and promotions
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and solve problems creatively
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal, verbal (including telephone) and written communication skills
- Basic computer processing skills including Microsoft Office, the internet, and various social media platforms
- Basic graphic design skills including functional knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
- Interest in Special Events and/or Hospitality Industry
- College coursework or comparable work experience preferred
- Ability to stand for more than four hours at a time
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
