Glint Events is a wedding and event planning company located in Richmond, Virginia. Established in 2011, they have been named a top wedding planning and event design firm by Richmond Bride Magazine and received numerous awards for their customer service from The Knot and Wedding Wire. At Glint, they strive to make the event planning process fun and easy for their clients! The Event Intern will be responsible for supporting the Glint Events team by managing event, marketing, and administrative related tasks. The best candidate for this position must thrive in a fast paced environment and be able to juggle many projects at one time. This is an unpaid internship and we will work with class credit criteria and around class schedules.
Marketing - identify relevant content to post on social media sites - write blog posts about company, events, industry trends and news - make updates to website - copy updates, resize photos, and post pictures - manage mailing lists (both email & snail mail) -
Administrative - run errands and make deliveries - data entry into planning software -
Event Support - event preparation- prepare timelines, floor plans, and gather supplies - assist with event set up, coordination, and clean up - assemble and address invitations
Skills - Customer Service - understands that clients come first, and making them happy is a priority - Self Starter - learns quickly and is able to manage projects and tasks independently - Communication - can communicate clearly via phone, email, and in person - Detail Oriented - can manage multiple detailed projects on varying timelines - Professional Presentation - represents the company’s premium brand through appearance, communication style, and personality - Team Player - Friendly, approachable, and able to work well with others. Takes direction well.
Requirements - proven ability to perform required skills - GPA of 3.4 or higher - experience in the event, marketing, or hospitality industries a plus - availability during the week and on weekends - we will work around class schedule - available from February 1, 2017 until at least May 31, 2017 - individual has access to a personal vehicle and personal laptop
Physical Requirements - ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to 14 hours - ability to climb stairs and walk long distances - ability to lift and move items up to 65 pounds - ability to withstand outdoor weather conditions - heat, sun, light rain, cold, wind etc.
