CREATIVE WORLD AWARDS – 2017 INTERNSHIP POSITION
Based in Los Angeles CA & Richmond, VA, Creative World Awards (CWA) is an international
screenwriting competition and development company devoted to advancing emerging and
established writing talent in the film industry. With direct access to top level producers and
industry executives, CWA has become one of the top international contests and a primary
go-to source in the industry for finding fresh material and talent.
CWA has 4 part time internship positions available. The screening and application
process gets underway in early December with training and the official internship to begin
within the first two weeks of January, 2017. The internship is unpaid. For interns that excel,
there may be opportunities to grow with the company. This position is ideal for those
looking to develop foundational skills as a writer, development executive, producer, or
looking to secure a position in the film industry as a whole.
Qualifications: Candidate should have some educational or training background in film,
screenwriting, and/or the business of film. He or she should be well organized, dependable,
and eager to learn the in’s and out’s of writing and the development side of the industry.
Position: Part-time internship. Internship can be used for credit hours at participating
Universities or without credit depending on the needs of the respective candidate.
Responsibilities: Assist in light administrative work and the coordination of story analyses
or basic coverage reports. Interns will learn about screenwriting development, coverage
writing, etc.
Hours: 15 hour commitment per week. Intern will spend these hours doing the internship
from their home if not close in location; however, they must have their own computer & be
able to conduct weekly intensive trainings over the phone if candidate is not located in LA or
Richmond.
Start Date: Interviews begin November 28th, 2016.
Length of position: Approximately 11-12 wks. Future renewal based on merit.
