The Podium Foundation (DBA Podium RVA) is a grassroots non-profit organization whose mission is to provide underserved youth ages 10-18 in the Greater Richmond Metropolitan Area the skills to become confident and capable readers, writers, and communicators to succeed in school, career, and life. Podium mentors provide after-school reading, writing, and communication workshops for youth, and include showcase and publishing opportunities through youth ‘zines, journals, and open mic events. We strive to raise the profiles of the many people who make Richmond a vibrant community. Urban Views has published a print product weekly for the last ten years that was distributed throughout the Greater Richmond area. We have ended the printed product and are now 100% online.

Q Media (formerly Unite Virginia) is Virginia’s LGBTQ Media Company. We are the only statewide media platform for issues pertaining to Virginia’s LGBTQ and allied communities. Our mission is to promote equality through storytelling. We are a nonpartisan, non-activist and family-friendly company. Founded in 2015, Q Media prints a quarterly magazine called Q Virginia, hosts community, educational and economic events, including Q Weddings—the statewide LGBTQ wedding show—produces The Q Guidebook—Virginia’s statewide LGBTQ guidebook and business directory—and maintains a robust website and growing social media presence. Moreover, the company will begin delving into the realm of digital media in the future, including podcasts and video production.
