Political Communications Intern

This is an internship position dedicated to managing outreach and communications for the Office of Delegate Mundon King. The position will be responsible for creating and managing social media content, logging constituent mailings, and writing a monthly newsletter. Primary duties will be maintaining a social media presence for the delegate by authoring and producing a monthly newsletter, developing and producing social media content, writing form letters, and logging constituent mailings.


Minimum Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and multi-task. Knowledge of multiple social media platforms. Ability to write and express ideas succinctly. Highly creative with interest in developing visually appealing documents for governmental agencies


Preferred Qualifications

Seeking bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field preferred. Working knowledge of communications. Extensive knowledge of multiple social media platforms. Demonstrated capabilities with the Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Canva, mobilize, NGP and other related software. Knowledge of Virginia Government is preferred but unnecessary.

Interns would be compensated with class credit.
