The Virginia Production Alliance is a networking and lobbying organization for Virginia’s film and television community. We sponsor professional development and networking events. We are also the leading advocate for Virginia’s production community, interacting with state lawmakers to help pass legislation to strengthen the filmmaking industry in our state.
We are looking for someone to focus on assisting us with web programming, maintaining, and attracting new members to our nonprofit during these troubled times. This means increasing and changing our online presence (as we will be moving a lot of our programming online until it is once again safe for us to meet in person), strengthening and increasing our membership base, and allowing us to keep our mission going through a difficult time. This internship will likely provide a potential intern with opportunities to interact with both filmmakers and politicians.
This position involves responsibilities in:
-Learning and helping to maintain our new website system. (we have just converted to Wild Apricot)
-Working on our SEO
-Assisting with strengthening our social media presence
-Reaching out to potential and former members
-Researching grants applicable to our organization
-Assist in grant writing.
-General office work and filing
- Assisting in our ongoing efforts to lobby the state government for increased tax incentives for the film industry
*We are also open to hearing other ideas if a student would like to customize an internship based on their major that would still fit with our non-profit's purpose.
Note: We do understand that our responsibilities are a wide range and will only delegate tasks related to the intern’s concentration. (Meaning, if you are interested in writing grants we don’t expect you to know how to develop websites)
