Fall 2020: District Fray Magazine - Remote Editorial Intern

District Fray Magazine is offering a remote editorial internship to college seniors and young professionals interested in pursuing a career in journalism, publishing and/or communications. You’ll work directly with District Fray’s editorial team to gain an understanding of the editorial process driving every issue – from how compelling content is selected and articles are assigned to how the creative team operates during production – and to gain hands-on experience for creating and promoting online content. Responsibilities:
Contribute to Radar listing sections
Write a broad range of content including feature articles for both online + print
Research, brainstorm + pitch story ideas for both online + print
Compile + organize editorial content for guides + inserts
Coordinate the flow of events posted to online calendar + included in the magazine
Fact check, proofread + make minor edits to editorial content as needed
Support the editorial team with all aspects of the editorial process as needed
Complete administrative tasks as needed
Assist with planning, outreach, research + reporting as needed

Requirements:
Strong experience in journalism, communications or another related field
Published clips or relevant writing samples (from the past year if possible)
Available to work 20-plus hours per week (full-time, 40 hours is ideal)
Passion + understanding for the digital media landscape, including various social media platforms
Exceptional written // verbal communication skills + attention to detail
Strong work ethic, entrepreneurial hustle + desire to improve skillset
21-plus
