Fall 2019: The Richmond Symphony - Marketing/Graphic Design Intern (PAID)

The Richmond Symphony is seeking a highly motivated and creative part-time marketing and graphic design intern. The position offers a unique opportunity to build your portfolio while gaining valuable, hands-on design experience. The intern will design content for digital, print, and social media and will conceptualize, design, and create promotional materials for the Richmond Symphony. Projects will range from designing social media graphics to participating in large projects to market Symphony concerts and community events. The intern will be an essential member of the Richmond Symphony team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with e-mail marketing through campaign development and content.
Assist with writing social media content and calendar
Create presentations, stationery, brochures, misc. marketing materials, and file management.
Updating existing digital graphic files and assist in designing engaging graphic communications for print and the web. This may include logos, direct mail pieces, branded promotional items, website and social media graphics, and other marketing materials as needed.
Work closely with the Marketing & PR Manager and Marketing Assistant/Graphic Designer to translate messaging concepts into marketing materials.
Other duties as assigned by the Marketing Manager.

Junior/Senior classification or recent college graduate
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: especially with InDesign, and Photoshop.
Ability to work independently as well as in partnership with a team.
Ability to define and work to deadlines.
Be self-directed, willing to take initiative, and detail-oriented.
Enthusiasm for the mission of the organization: to change lives through the power of our music!
An “all hands on deck” attitude, along with outstanding communication skills.

Time Commitment:
10 hours/week
Work Study Eligible
Work will be done within Richmond Symphony office hours: M - F, 9:00am - 5:00pm

This is a paid position and may be eligible for college credits (if you are a student).
